What Hiring Means to Us at Circle1

We are small. Small enough that a single hire moves the average in either direction, and everyone notices within a week. That one fact shapes how we think about hiring more than any policy document could.
We read what you built before we read where you studied
A degree tells us where you spent a few years. A repository, a side project, a product with real users, or an essay you clearly cared about tells us how you think, what you consider finished, and what you do when nobody assigns you the work.
That is why the first thing we ask for is a CV alongside a GitHub or portfolio, and a few lines on what you actually want to build. The last part matters as much as the first two. People who know what they want to build tend to build it.
We hire for ownership, not for tickets
Circle1 runs three verticals. We develop, design, and scale our own software products. We fund and back early-stage founders with capital, engineering, and go-to-market expertise. And we educate and empower the next generation of builders.
None of those work with people who wait to be told what the next task is. The operators who ship our own products are the same people who sit beside the founders we back, and that only holds if everyone carries a problem end to end: understanding it, deciding what to build, shipping it, and then living with what they shipped.
A high bar is a form of respect
Keeping the bar high is not about being hard to please. It is about what we owe the people already here. Every person who joins decides what the standard looks like for everyone around them, so we would rather wait than fill a seat.
The flip side is that we take the process seriously in the other direction too. If you put real work in front of us, you deserve a real answer about it.
The door stays open when there is no vacancy
Most of the time we are not advertising a role. That is not the same as being closed. The people we most want to work with are rarely scanning job boards on the week we happen to post something, so we would rather know who you are before we have a seat than miss you because our timing was off.
If you think you belong here, write to us at career@circle1.tech with your CV, your GitHub or portfolio, and a few lines on what you want to build. We will reach out when there is a fit.
Think you belong here?
We are always open to talented people, whether or not a role is posted. Tell us what you want to build.
