Culture at Circle1: Straight from the Team
We can write all we want about culture. Honestly, it means nothing unless the people who show up here every morning feel it too. So we asked two of them to talk you through it themselves. No brief, no edits, and no founders looking over their shoulder.
Apil is our product manager. He's the one stuck between the stakeholders and engineers every day, so he sees all sides of the company.
Since the beginning, Circle1 has been more than a workplace for me. The open-mindedness of the team, the flexibility of work and the enjoyable work environment have all been vital towards my personal growth along with the company's growth.
Team wide jokes, playful banter have all been a part of the company and its work culture. The work environment promotes creative, critical and analytical thinking. Company sports are a part of the work environment as well. Team bonding happens naturally over shared problems and issues. No problem is just yours, it's ours.
Teaching, learning, and working all happen in the same station almost simultaneously. You might be guiding your co-worker on something while you yourself are getting guided by your senior. Beyond office and working hours the seniors are very fun to be around.
Last but not least, Circle1 is not just a company, it's a community of builders, learners and a group of people who truly enjoy the time they spend together.
If you won't take a product manager's word for it (fair, that's his job), here's Abhimannu, one of our Day 1 engineers. He was here when the office was still an empty room and the product was still on a blank whiteboard.
In my professional journey I have worked at multiple companies. When I joined Circle1, I thought it would be just another company where I could contribute with my skills but on the job Circle1 became more than just a job. It became a family, a social space, a learning zone and overall it became a part of my comfort zone.
The overall environment where everyone pushes you to better yourself, not just for the company but for overall personal growth. The seniors don't act like the manager who distances themselves and makes us feel like we are just contributing to the company and the company doesn't care about us which I have felt from my previous companies. Circle1 makes us feel like they care about giving us every opportunity to push ourselves. Sometimes they push us out of our comfort zone to make ourselves better.
Not only the work but in the context of mental refreshment the seniors also play with us, joke around with us and have plenty of fun together. Takes us to play and the company thinks about our mental as well as physical health.
